Principal's Message
The challenge that both educators and parents face on a daily basis is to encourage and maintain the enthusiasm and love for learning that all children have when they first start school, and to help them develop into valuable future citizens.
Some basic principles that we constantly need to remind ourselves of are…
- the uniqueness of children and the importance for us to ensure that we challenge them and meet them where they're at so that they are encouraged through success, not discouraged either through failure because of unrealistic expectations, or tasks that are not challenging enough.
- the frailty of each individual child's self perception and the importance of nurturing within each one an attitude of self-worth, as well as a positive attitude about themselves as learners. If children think they're good at something, their positive attitude will make them successful.
- the importance of role models that we as adults provide. These are the building blocks for their character development. Are we caring and kind and tolerant? Do we always act with integrity? Their characters are moulded by that they see us do.
Through the establishment of realistic but challenging expectations, set in an environment of encouragement and support, children can achieve great things.
This school is dedicated to helping your child achieve his/her personal best, to develop as an independent and knowledgeable person who is worthy and socially responsible, employable, capable of self-fulfilment and capable of contributing to society with a disposition for lifelong learning.
We recognise the extremely important nurturing role of parents in this achievement. Consequently parents are encouraged to become actively involved in our school so that we can all work together for the benefit of our children.
Our children are our future. We welcome you to partake in this exciting development of your child at our school.
